How do we check availability and what is the cost of a stay?
You can check availability and find prices on our booking page
How do we make a booking and pay for our stay?
Bookings can be made directly online through the booking page using a bank card. 25% of the price of your stay is required to make a booking. We will contact you via email 6 weeks before your visit for the remainder of the fee for your holiday (if you haven’t heard from us it is worth checking your spam folder!). If your booking is made within 6 weeks of the date you are coming to stay we will require full payment at the time of booking.
Can I make payment over the phone?
Yes you can, please give us a call if would like to make payment this way.
Where are you based?
We are based at Wardspring Farm, Leiston Road, Saxmundham, Suffolk, IP17 1TG.
What time is check in/check out?
Check in is at 3.30pm and check out is at 10am. We ask you to arrive before 9pm. If this is likely to be a problem please let us know in advance.
Can we leave earlier than check out time?
That’s not a problem. We will show you where you can drop your keys off if we are not on site.
Do you take group bookings?
We do, but we only take adult groups outside of school holidays and bank holidays (we regret we do not take all male adult groups). It’s also important to mention that unless you are booking the whole site you will need to be mindful of other visitors concerning noise after 11pm. If this will be tricky for your group then we are probably not the place for you I’m afraid. We do welcome exclusive site hire.
Do you take pets?
We have two dog friendly trailers, Betsy and Nettie, unfortunately we can’t take pets in any of the other Airstreams. Well behaved dogs on leads are also welcome if you are bringing your own tent or caravan/camper.
Are bedding and towels including?
Bedding and towels are not included. You can hire bedding from us at a cost of £15 for a double set and £10 for a single set. You are of course very welcome to bring your own bedding (you will need duvets, pillows and bed linen unless you choose to bring sleeping bags). Flat sheets are best for the double beds in Betsy and Dee Dee due to the unusual shape of the bed. You will also need to remember to bring towels. And beach towels too if you are planning a trip to the seaside!
Is there wifi?
Due to the rural nature of our location I’m afraid there is no wifi. Saxmundham is only a mile away and has a Costa coffee which has free wifi for customers.
Are there electric plug points in the Airstreams?
Yes there are electric plug points, they take standard British plugs.
Can we BBQ?
Yes, please feel free to bring portable BBQs with you, or disposable ones are always a good option.
Is there a toilet in the Airstreams?
Yes, there is a camping toilet in each of the caravans. They are only designed for light use! We ask that you use the site facilities as much as possible. There are lovely toilets and showers just 50 yards away.
Can we come for a visit that does not fit within your usual break parameters?
Our minimum booking is for 2 nights. During school holidays and bank holidays our minimum weekend stay is 3 nights starting on a Friday and for 4 nights midweek starting on a Monday. Outside of school holidays we will accept a shorter break midweek. Please get in touch with us.
Will a travel cot fit inside the Airstreams?
Space is fairly tight in the Airstreams. Annie has the most space inside, making her the best choice for a travel cot. Gloria and Peggy can also fit a travel cot but it is more of a squeeze. The travel cot will fit in next to the sofa bed in the main living area. If you have any concerns about sleeping arrangements please get in touch.
Do you have travel cots, bed guards and high chairs that we can borrow?
We have a couple of each. Please let us know in advance if you would like to borrow any of them. There is no charge.
Are the Airstreams warm?
They were designed for stay cool in the California sun and to keep warm in the Alaskan cold and are well insulated. We provide oil radiators and blankets so you should be warm. If you are visiting early or late in our season you may want to bring some extra layers with you. Please remember hats and warm socks as it does get cold at night if you want to sit outside.
What is the nearest train station?
We are only a mile away from Saxmundham train station, trains to London via Ipswich are just under 2 hours.
Can we visit without a car?
You could visit without a car, although to get to the nearest bus stop in Saxmundham there is no footpath so walking at night or with children may not be a good idea. You could come via train with a bike as Suffolk is fairly flat so it’s good for cycling. I’m afraid we don’t hire bikes ourselves, Aldeburgh Cycle Hire will be happy to hire bikes for your stay and to drop them off at the site for you https://www.facebook.com/Aldeburghcyclehire. If you wanted to rent a car for your stay the Enterprise Car Rental office in Lowestoft offer a collection service that covers Saxmundham.
Do we need to reserve a fire pit in advance?
No, we have one for every trailer and camping pitch and they are free to borrow. You are welcome to bring your own wood or can buy it from Reception. I’m afraid the design of the fire pits doesn’t allow for cooking but they are perfect for toasting marshmallows!
How far is the nearest shop?
We are 1 miles from Saxmundham which has a Tesco and Waitrose and other local shops, banks and a pharmacy. You are welcome to order shopping online to be delivered to the Airstream. Please let us know in advance so that we can look out for it.
What facilities are provided in the Airstreams?
They each have a cooker with a hob and small oven, undercounter fridge with small ice-box, crockery, cutlery, saucepans and cooking utensils. There is a toaster, a radio, a small TV just for watching DVDs. We don’t provide bedding or towels within the rental price (bedding can be hired for an additional charge, £15 for a double set, £10 for a single set, which includes duvet, pillows and bed linen). Tea, coffee and sugar are all provided.
What facilities are provided in Elsie?
Elsie is very small and only suitable for 2 people. She will not fit a travel cot unfortunately. She has a camping toilet, a two ring electric hob (no oven), a water carrier and a small hotel mini-bar size fridge. All other facilities e.g TV and cooking utensils are the same as the Airstreams.
Can we book additional camping space for tents or caravans/campers to camp with us?
Yes, you can. We only have 2 additional camping spaces which are only for Airstreams, camper vans or retro caravans over 20 years old or retro style tents. Modern tents will only be accepted when booking one of our own caravans. If in doubt drop us a line.
What do we need to bring with us?
Bedding (unless you have hired it in advance!), towels, warm clothes and wellies if there has been rain.
What shouldn’t we bring with us?
Unfortunately we only accept dogs in Betsy and Nettie so please don’t bring pets if you are staying in any of the other Airstreams.
